LOOK WHO HAS ARRIVED!
It's a BOY!
No, no not a human boy -- a Dachsund boy!
Let me introduce him and tell you all about him!First of all, his name is Kindred Caleb, but we call him KC. We have had him exactly a week today, and believe me, it's been a full week! His was born on Father's Day (June 18th), so he's 8 weeks old today! Right now, his papa came home, so he's playing with him. He is like our little baby -- he takes up part of the hole that I have in my heart in wanting a baby.
He's a pretty quick learner -- he knows outside is where he goes potty, he knows where he eats (he even brought me his empty bowl yesterday!), he knows how to work his mama and papa with those puppy looks and soft whines! And he's got to be the cutest thing you've ever seen! I never thought much about Dachsunds, but when I saw him I fell in love.
He had a rough ride home -- we drove from Monrovia to Greenwood. But he settled down quicky. At first we had problems with food -- he didn't like to eat. Now we have him on a new brand -- Friskees (yes, believe it or not, they do make dogfood! It was news to me too, so don't feel too badly!) and he LOVES it! Now he's a little piggy! We still have problems with sleeping -- he wants to be with mama and papa, and we want him in his cage, at least until he's used to it. Then he can have his own little bed next to us. But the past 2 nights, we have been bad parents and given in to let him sleep with us. I know, I know. I can't believe it either. Jerry is such a pushover and spoiler I don't know what to do with him! (Joking! =) And I hate feeling like the Mean Parent! So I gave in. But no more!! He must learn where his bed is....
He is still playing with papa. KC is good for both of us. He's also good for Grandpa! He loves him so much, and he feels a nice sense of fulfillment and responsibility when he takes care of him. How could anyone help love the little guy? He's lovable and sweet, and the most adorable dog I've ever seen (did I mention that?). We're thankful for him!
When I get his pictures scanned, everyone can see for themselves how cute he is. Once we get those up, along with Dachsund facts and info, he'll have his own big section -- all on KC's Korner! =)
